General Outpatient (GOP) vs Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Treatment

What is Outpatient Rehab?

Outpatient programs offer drug, alcohol, medication (where applicable) and/or mental health counseling and therapy treatments which can be scheduled with a greater degree of flexibility during the week allowing patients to continue living at home. In general, they focus on counseling, education, and building a safe, supportive network for patients motivated to work on their substance abuse disorders and recovery while continuing with their day-to-day responsibilities.

What is the Difference between General Outpatient (GOP) vs Intensive Outpatient (IOP)?

General Outpatient (GOP)

General outpatient care includes weekly group & individual therapy sessions at a frequency determined by the patients’ therapist. General outpatient continues for an unspecified period of time until it is determined by the therapist, patient and their families that the GOP level of support is no longer necessary.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

This is a feature block that you can use to highlight features. Our intensive outpatient program typically consists of (3) 3-hour sessions per week. A treatment plan is established with defined and measurable goals. As patients progress and achieve their goals the time commitment required per week decreases.
